Why in the news?

North Korea test fired multiple ballistic missiles toward its eastern seas, adding to its military demonstrations as tensions with Washington and neighbors escalate.

About North Korea:

It is a country in East Asia.
It constitutes the northern half of the Korean Peninsula.
