India and the Maldives held a fresh round of \"productive\" defense dialogue with a focus on the situation in the Indian Ocean and ways to expedite implementation of ongoing defense projects.
The defense dialogue in Delhi took place nearly a month after External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar paid a three-day visit to the Maldives, in the first high-level trip from New Delhi after the island nation\'s pro-China President Mohamed Muizzu assumed office.

Atolls:
These are ring-shaped reef formations with a central lagoon.
They are rings of coral reefs ranging from 1 to 20 miles in diameter that are a result of the full submersion of an island that was surrounded by fringing and barrier reefs.
